Every collector remembers the feeling they got when they ripped their first pack as a kid.

I'm AJ, and for me, it was collecting hockey cards with my dad, as well as my own collection of Pokemon cards in a binder that got carried to school a lot more days than it should have. Trades happened at recess. Doubles got swapped over lunch tables. Nobody was thinking about resale value — you just wanted the one card you didn't have yet.

Then, like most people, the cards got put away, forgotten over time.

Fast forward to 2025, when I realized my son was super into Pokemon and I introduced him to the hobby. Watching him opening packs, picking a favourite card, and holding onto it like treasure was the exact feeling I'd had at his age. It didn't take long for the excitement and nostalgia to take over, and not long after, Gen2 Cards was born. Two generations of Pokemon card lovers, taking collecting to the next level.

How we do things

We're a small independent shop based in Richmond, BC. Being small shapes what we care about:

• Singles to complete your sets — Finishing a set shouldn't mean fighting pull rates. If you need three cards, you should be able to just buy three cards.
• Playables to elevate your next deck.
• Helping you get the sealed product you can't find in stores.
• Local matters. If you're nearby, we'd rather hand you the cards or product ourselves. And watch out for us at card shows soon!

Not just Pokemon

One Piece pre-orders are also available now, and sports cards are coming — the same collection that started all this for me. Whatever you collect, we want to be the shop that treats a $2 card with the same care as a $200 one.

Our motto is to connect collectors with the cards and products they love, no matter which generation, card game, or hobby is your favourite.
